I'm a Ph.D. with a background in molecular biology. I've been lucky enough to publish first-author work in Nature, and co-authored a few papers in Cell and Molecular Cell along the way.
All these years, I've been teaching myself to play the electronic keyboard, dabbling in physics, making authentic Chinese food, reading science fiction, and whatever else looks interesting, and slowly working my way through all 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks. (Halfway there — ask me again in a few years.)
But the thing I love most? Drawing, painting, and animation. No formal training — just a pen, a tablet, a lot of curiosity, and a stubborn habit of teaching myself in whatever spare time I can find. Grad school got in the way for a while, but I'm back at it. And I'm not stopping.
